We recommend that you do a little reading and research before you decide to add a Matrix Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier puppy to your family. As with any reading list or reference library, you may agree or disagree with these recommendations - please do take some time to consider the content.
Learn, before you add a dog to your home, how to train and manage dog behavior. We recommend potty training, behavior training and crate training.
Crate training gives your dog it's own "den." This is the puppy's place to relax and rest, a place to call it's own, and a place to sleep and be safe. This is particularly important to a puppy, and Matrix Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier puppies are accustomed to kennels and crates as their place to be.
Teoti Anderson's "Crate Training, Quick & Easy" has a simple and practical approach to teaching your dog where to call his "place." Look for it on Amazon here
Find yourself an approach to behavior training and read to understand the psychology of that approach. Choose a positive approach, based in kindness and relationship - building. Training helps build trust. There are may opinions and many are right. One will be right for you - or you may choose a style that takes a little from many.
